Team Tennis
Saturday Women
The Saturday Women’s League is a league full of players with vast amounts of experience. The league is open to Women 18 and older and plays on Saturday 2 times a year. Each dual meet consists of five doubles matches. Each season includes seven weeks of regular play with a four-week playoff to determine the city champions. Champions of each level move on the state championship. Winners from each state proceed to MITB Tennis Team National Championship. National Championship will rotate each year between the 16 states. Teams are formed and organized by individual members of the teams and play out various courts around the area. Each team must have a minimum of twelve women. Once registered, teams will be assigned a level/flight by MITB Sports and placed in a division with a schedule of play for the season. Playing levels consist of 31 levels ranging from 3.0 to 6.0 to ensure sandbagging is controlled to the fullest.
Team placement is determined by the average of all player’s usta rating. If a player does not have a USTA rating, players will be researched to the fullest in other flex league to determine their rating. In order to control sandbagging to the fullest, any player that has no tennis history in any league will be assigned a rating of 6.0, until it can be proven otherwise. At MITB Sports, we have seen and understand, teams will recruit players with no history and try to rate them as low as possible in order to sandbag. If you would not like your player to be assigned 6.0, please have them play in other leagues to generate some type of rating.
